In Game 1 of the day, the Jacks did not come out strong defensively as a costly error allowed the Teatons to score 5 runs in the first. Offensively Cody Bronson had a great game going 2-2 with a double and 2 RBI's. The Jacks were able to settle down on defense after the first but could not put up the necessary runs to bring the game close.

In Game 2 of the day, the Jacks came out strong on both offense and defense. Timely hits and effective pitching allowed the score to be 3-1 going into the bottom of the fifth. However, when you give a good team extra outs they will make you pay and Williston sure did in the 5th when a costly error took what would have been a no run inning and turned it into a 7 run outburst. The Jacks were lead on offense by Jesse Turner who went 2-4 with a double.
Overall, this was a frustrating day for the Lumberjacks because we were playing good baseball but couldn't seem to get out of our own way. We did learn a valuable lesson about making sure outs which as a coach I am glad we learned this week and not during regionals. As spring is unpredictable we must always be ready to play with limited rest. With that in mind, tomorrow the Jacks will finally get their home opener against Lake Region at 1:00. Please come out and support as this will be our sophomores last chance to play at the Lumberyard.
Thank you and GO JACKS!
Coach Martin
